Deadly Monthly – Christmas Special!

Kicking off the festive season early, we’re delighted showcase a handful of our favorite acts from 2011. Very much a family affair (as christmas should be), live performances will come from the brilliant Carousels, Peace and Joe And Will Ask – who debut their brand new live performance for the first time!

DJ’s on the night include Deadly’s own O. Children and the one to watch for 2012, Monki from Rinse FM!

As always with the Deadly Xmas parties, special guests are often known to rear their faces so you can expect some big surprises for this one too! But to make sure there’s no riots outside of the Old Blue, we thought it best to keep it under wraps for now!

Free Entry for all! Click here to attend.

Deadly Presents: The Compilation

We’re constantly listening to new music in the office and when we were given the opportunity to put together a compilation of the songs we love we jumped at it.

Well, kind of. We were first asked about 18 months ago and we just kept working and working at it. Adding and deleting songs amidst a lot banter and drunken chats.

Finally, it’s done. We asked our favourite designer, Sam Coldy, to create a cover that probably makes no sense but looks magic. All of the amazing artists on board got involved and we love the result.

The compilation is over 2 CDs (with select songs on one heavyweight, deluxe RED vinyl) and something that we hope stands the test of time as great songs.

Voxx44 – New EP from Joe And Will Ask

New EP from Joe And Will Ask out now.

We’re super excited about releasing the new single from Joe and Will Ask. The Voxx44 EP featurs two brand new tracks that have been tested to perfection over the past few months at their roadblocked East London club night Vikings.

Originally conceived for Joe and Will’s live set, the much evolved ‘Voxx44’ is the product of several late night studio sessions that brought this homage to the classic electro sound into the now. ‘Voxx44’ redefines the “breakdown” as the main element, so when the drop comes the effect is magnified.

‘Cartooning’ is a straight-up club track and indicative of the duo’s love of bouncing techno.

Check out the previews right now. Available to buy here.

What’s more, their Vikings club night is quickly becoming one of the most talked about nights in East London and they’ve just confirmed another string of huge guests for a run of parties at The Russian Bar.

Joe And Will Ask – Clive Onion

Brand new song from Joe & Will Ask. It’s funny how things turn out. The guys were asked to remix Yeasayer. They ended up writing a killer bassline that sounded weird with the Yeasayer parts. So they wrote a brand new song, sampled Arcade Fire and delivered it the next day.

Here you go – straight from the studio!

Welcome to the family…

Joe and Will Ask? have been on our radar since a friend passed us their remix of I Need Your Love by Milke over a year ago. Their own special brand of crunchy, blippy, melodic house makes us want to go out take plant food and dance all night. Their production values are spot on too.

Clash Music know what they’re talking about, and have named the pair to their list of top 10 DJs to watch this year. Check out the article here.

Watch this space for updates about their next single this spring.
