From Thursday, Easyjet flights from London to Barcelona will be packed out with kids in skinny jeans and deck shoes heading to Barcelona for Primavera Festival, aka Shoreditch on Sea.
The whole Deadly crew is heading out as well (except Radha and Foggins – sorry kids, someone has to hold down the fort and protect the vitamin water), and here’s why we love it so much.
1. The lineup is amazing and there’s something for everyone. This year I’m particularly excited to see the Pixies, Health, Built to Spill, Moderat, Liquid Liquid, Les Savvy Fav, Wire, Yeasayer and the Drums. Also all those “rad” new chillwave bands that are “all over the blogs” will be playing. Check out the full lineup on the Primavera site.
2. The VIP area has free beer and Jaegermeister shots.
3. The festival mostly only starts after 7pm so you can go to the beach or look at crazy stuff by Gaudi during the day.
4. It’s full of cool Spanish people with good tattoos.
To get everyone in the mood, I’ve put together a Primavera Spotify playlist. Unfortunately Spotify has an extremely limited number of Built to Spill tracks.
